Brittany
Unique to France, Brittany (Bretagne in French) is located on the northwest
corner of France.
Brittany’s unique culture, landscape and weather has long been the home of painters. Seeking to capture Brittany’s natural beauty, on canvas, Gauguin lived in Brittany, painting its unique dresses, customs, lifestyle and landscape. Surrounded by water on three sides, Brittany is world famous for its unique, unusual and dramatic cloud formations.
Brittany is also famous for the greatest number of Standing Stones, called Menhirs in French. These monuments (like Stonehenge) are over 6000 years old. Built by Neolithic culture, over 5000 can be found in Brittany alone.
Côte des Légendes
Wild, genuine and natural, the Pays des Abers - Côte des Légendes
is vibrant with light and colours. The shoreline shelters colonies of
noisy seabirds. The coastal lawns with their fragile flora carpets are
exposed and then covered again by the sea everyday. The coastline dunes
are exposed to the wind, and covered with thrift, thistle and wild moors.
The heaths, woods, rocks, marshes, beaches and dunes form a fascinating
mosaic landscape of shades of blue, green and gold.

Family History
Keremma is not only unique to Brittany, but to the entire world. Keremma
is an enchanting site nestled in the Pays des Abers. The mosaic of colours
and strength of natural elements are both invigorating and calming. Behind
the coastline, Keremma offers a magnificent wooded park, crossed by meandering
pedestrian paths and filled with magnificent mansions and charming houses.
At the beginning of the 19th century, Louis Rousseau, a social utopist,
built a seawall and was able to reclaim 6 kilometers of coastline from
the sea, which he named after his wife, Emma. He left Keremma to his descendants,
today all of who share his passion to preserve this natural treasure.
Imagine a wide park crossed by enchanting pedestrian
paths, filled with centennial trees, rabbits, magpies and woodpeckers,
all existing together in this peaceful oasis.
