Painting and French instruction is personal and focuses on each artist’s individual needs.

Painting sessions in the medium of your choice (oil paint, oil pastels, acrylic paint, soft pastel, watercolors and drawing) are conducted in the surrounding local area. Our large painting studio provides opportunity to continue paintings indoors. Plein Air sites include nearby luxurious and historic Keremma gardens, Keremma Beach, Bretagne coastline, rocky seashore and local architecture.

The studio
The painting studio is a well-lit open space providing a cozy repose for painting at the end of the day, or when the Brittany weather becomes moody.

Presentations that support each days painting sessions include such topics as “Color Theory & Color Mixing”, “Understanding Landscape Colors”, “Composition and Form”, “The History of Impressionism“ and “The History of Modern Art Materials: from canvas to paint to brushes”.

French lessons will be given in the morning and the evening before and after each painting session.
Vocabulary and phrases will be gone over to coincide with each days painting theme as well as “practical everyday French” for eating, shopping, conversing and more. During each painting session, the instructor will be available to converse in French with you, reinforcing each day’s lesson.
